I have a background in chemistry and wanted to include iron in the name of my shop. Iron\u2019s chemical element symbol is Fe which comes from the Latin word for iron, Ferrum. Iron has several oxidation states and in chemistry and ferrous is used in the name of chemical compounds for one of those oxidation states. I happened to like the sound of ferrous. Using the letters F and E from the chemical symbol for iron (Fe), ferrous obviously works for the letter F. For the letter E came engineering and thus the name Ferrous Engineering.\u00a0 And the initials of the business name are F and E which also matches the chemical symbol for iron (Fe). So it was a quite a simple process to name the shop and now the business Ferrous Engineering, at least to a chemist.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ferrousengineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logo-4-012918.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-270\" src=\"http:\/\/ferrousengineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logo-4-012918.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"80\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What about the name.
